Children and young people are important in the life of the church

We have a growing number of children coming to the Sunday service, and they are welcomed as valued members of the church family.

, our group for children aged 3 and upwards, (spltting into two sub-groups for different ages), runs on the first and third Sundays of each month, at the same time as the church service, i.e. 10.30am to about 11.45am, in the "Harold Porter Hall" immediately behind the church. Stories, fun activities, songs, simple Bible teaching, etc.

So, Kids, come along on the first and third Sunday of the month at 10.30am. (Not in August).

At present there is no group for those of secondary school age, but maybe in the future...?

Baptism for children

Often a child's contact with the church starts with baptism. So, parents, if you would like your child baptised, please contact the Vicar. We encourage all parents with Christian faith to have their children baptised.

And if you are not sure about whether you can make the declarations involved in the baptism service, or if you want your child to be totally free to make up his/her mind later, please ask about a service of thanksgiving and blessing, which centres round your child as much as a baptism does, but requires no promises or declarations of faith from you.

But whatever you go for, the key thing is that we want to welcome your child in God's name into the family of the church.

Links with schools

The church has links with all the primary schools in the parish, (there are no secondary schools within the parish area), with the Vicar conducting assemblies at all of them, and occasional visits to the church by children from each of the schools.

And here's an exciting inter-active web-site for kids - see what you can find out!
